Biography: Edmond Gorginian

Edmond Gorginian is Armenian. He was born in Tehran, Iran. He migrated to Frankfort, Germany in 1987, finally arriving in the United States in 1989. He was very fortunate to meet Nevit Ergin in 2001 when Ergin and his youngest son Cengiz moved to San Mateo where they resided in Edmond’s home. Edmond was Ergin’s teaching assistant at Marine College where Ergin taught an introductory course on Rumi.  He accompanied Ergin to many Sufi gatherings, as well as Ergin’s final trips to Konya, Turkey for the publication of the Replica of the Divan-i Kebir. He is currently responsible for maintaining the inventory and for distribution of Ergin’s translations of the Divan-i Kebir and its Replica. He lives in Burbank, California.
